Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Our Provision

Our school currently provides provision for a range of needs, including:

 

  • Communication and interaction, for example, autistic spectrum disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, speech and language difficulties
  • Cognition and learning, for example, dyslexia, dyspraxia
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties, for example, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Sensory and/or physical needs, for example, visual impairments, hearing impairments, processing difficulties, epilepsy
  • Moderate and multiple learning difficulties

 

We are very proud to have established The Nest, here at Christ Church & St Peter's CofE Primary. This is a specialist social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) hub. 

Admission to the Nest is via the Local Authority and all children need a Education, Health & Care Plan with SEMH has the primary need.

The information on the SEND & Inclusion pages will be reviewed by SENCo every year. It will also be updated if any changes to the information are made during the year. 

 

It will be approved by the governing body annually. 

High Quality 1st Teaching

 

It is our aim, here at Christ Church & St Peter’s CofE Primary School that all of our children receive High Quality 1st Teaching.

 

High Quality 1st Teaching is teaching and learning that is:

 

  • Dyslexia friendly
  • Is inclusive; appeals to a range of learning styles and is represented visually, auditory and kinaesthetically; caters for a range of needs
  • Highly differentiated to meet a range of needs and levels of abilities
  • Uses adult support and intervention in a range of effective ways
  • Develops a child’s social, emotional, personal skills and moral understanding
  • Moves a child’s learning on at a good pace
  • Is exciting, interesting, stimulating and relevant!!!
