Aiming High and Caring for Everyone.

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

School Council

Our school council members range from EYFS to Year 6 and they are responsible young people, who are elected by their peers.

These children are representatives of their classes and meet as a central group to make decisions about school life.

The opinions of our children are incredibly valuable and we strive to provide them with a space to make sure that they all feel as if their voices are being heard by all adults including teachers and the head teacher.

The School Council children have been working really hard over the Spring term and I am excited to share some of their hard work with you. Below you will find their posters which they have enthusiastically created in preparation for our whole school Pyjamarama Day on Friday 27th March. You will see these popping up around school very soon.

From our very first meeting fundraising for a cause close to our hearts has been a top priority for our School Council. Pyjamarama Day will kickstart this off for us with all of our proceeds going to the charity Children with Cancer UK.

Children are encouraged to wear their pyjamas and bring in a donation of a £1 on the last day of term. After school their will be a cake sale and a guess how many sweets are in the jar activity to support us in raising even more money for such a fantastic charity.

Watch this space for further information on Pyjamarama Day!

Alongside all of the preparation for Pyjamarama Day, the School Council have been working closely with the peers in their class to ensure that all pupil’s voices are heard within our School Council meetings. As a result of this the School Council have been putting together ideas for rewards that the children in our school would like to be given when their School House has collected the most house points.

Miss Moore joined us in our final School Council meeting of term to listen to all of the ideas that had been collected. The School Council are eagerly waiting to hear which reward idea has been chosen!

Thank you to parents at home who have been supporting their children with their School Council duties. I am really enjoying working with all of the children involved.

Miss Hogg
